More than 450km of slopes !
Saint-Gervais lies at the heart of the Evasion Mont-Blanc ski area – one of the largest connected areas in France.
It covers an area stretching between the resorts of Saint Gervais, Megève, Saint Nicolas, Combloux and Les Contamines. Sheltered by the highest peak in Europe, there are no less than 450 km of mapped ski runs on offer to suit all tastes and styles of skiing. On top of that the Evasion Mont Blanc ski area is equipped with 117 ski lifts. In the middle of it all, the Mont Joux snow park caters to all freestyle skiers and snowboarders.

Great skiing for all levels – across snowy pastures, through pine forests and down some exceptional off-piste runs, all with spectacular views of Mont-Blanc, offering skiers and boarders a vast playground in a unique setting.

Ski Bus
The main Telecabine up to the ski area at Le Bettex is a 7 to 10 minute walk, or alternatively the Navette, the free ski shuttle bus, stops at the bottom of the drive both to and from the lift.
On your way back from the Telecabine, you want the bus marked Ligne 2. Winter 2022/2023 Bus Route Map and Timetable here.
Lift Passes
There’s a variety of passes available either by purchasing directly from one of the lift offices, or online where you can get 6 days for the price of 5 if you book at least 10 days in advance.
Take a look here to see which lift pass suits you best, there’s various options on offer, but the best bet is generally the Evasion Mont Blanc Pass.
There are Ski Pass counters (and 2 or 3 automated machines) at the bottom of the main Telecabines in Saint Gervais and Les Contamines, and also a Caisse at the Tourist Office where you can buy or recharge your pass. The pass itself is re-useable so keep it for next time and save yourself €2!
Equipment Hire
We can personally recommend Unlimited Sports in Saint Gervais who provide a good, friendly service just a 2 minute walk from the apartment.
Also worth considering is SkiLoc up at the top of the Telecabine in Le Bettex. Again, a great service but they also have the benefit of ski lockers for hire or sometimes included in the cost of your rental.
This allows you to store all your gear right next to the piste – just head up the Telecabine in the morning with your “normal” shoes on. Really great if you normally have to carry a load of kid’s equipment along with your own!
There’s fairly comprehensive list of other Equipment Hire Shops on the St Gervais website too.
Ski Schools
ESF Saint Gervais are, naturally, the biggest in town and are based, up the Telecabine from the town, at Le Bettex. There’s also an ESF enquiries and booking desk within the Tourist Office in Saint Gervais town centre.
ESF provide the full service of Group and Private lessons for skiers and boarders and also have a fantastic “Club Piou Piou” Snowgarden for the little ones starting from just age 3.

If you fancy trying an alternative Ski School to the ESF then there’s Révolution Glisse and Freedom Snowsports too.
